SailFlow: Marine Forecasts App Reviews

We got caught out in rough seas last month - not fun. Some fishermen on the dock we finally made it in to told us about Sailflow and I have to say it is the best out there. We dont go anywhere without checking it. It gives me peace of mind and for that alone its priceless! Im telling everybody about this app!!

Sailflow is a great wind forecasting tool that is easy to use once you understand it. There is a bit of a learning curve with it. I like the way it presents information in a readily understandable and quickly comprehendable fashion. It would be nice if it was a bit more accurate but I understand the challenges of projecting wind speed and direction, especially over a period of several days. Ive fond it to be pretty reliable for the next 12-hour period, but beyond that, its reliablility diminishes rapidly. Also, it sun/cloudy/rain forecast often doesnt jive with other weather forecasts

This is the best program Ive found so far to predict wind conditions, there is always room for improvement, but so far this is my go to tool.

Cool app, BUT, most of the time the forecast data is inaccurate. Take today for example: I live 50 mi from my marina so I really rely on weather data/ forecasts when deciding if Im going sailing or not. This morning was clear and beautiful at my house; looked like it should be a great day to sail, but first I checked sail flow and was surprised to see it indicated that it was raining hard at my marina, (Channel Islands,Ca). It forecasted rain to end around noon. I checked the weather app on my iPhone for same area....it called for sunny/ clear all day! I decided to drive to marina; got there at 11am and was pleased to find clear skies ... Beautiful! Opened up the sail flow app and it said it was currently raining! Decided to delete the app

I lead week long trips in the Everglades and Ten Thousand Islands. I use sail flow to help with route planning. Is it perfect? Come on, you try to predict windspeed and direction. But Ill tell you this, Ive found using it in conjunction with NOAA weather radio I get a pretty close prediction. Often sail flow is the more accurate of the two. Its my go to app with planning routes in regards to the wind.

What a great app. It covers the tides, winds, forecast, position, ... What more do we need? Ahh, a waterproof display! Cover your mobile!!!

Realtime weather readings are as accurate as the sensors and their locations. The forecasts are accurate as any (80%) best to compare from several sources to get a feel for the possibilities.

I am a sailing instructor and use this everyday in the summer so I think you should make this app Apple Watch compatible

I use SF on Lake Travis in Austin Texas for weather when I race with Austin Yacht Club. The wind dies or blows just like the app says!!

Great for a quick look at winds, and as a sailor I appreciate a weather app that treats wind as more than just an afterthought.

If youre looking for a great app which forecasts weather, this is it!

The graphics showing coastlines and the map overlay still dont line up despite reporting this to the App developer some months ago. Its fine on my iPad but difficult to use on my iPhone. I had hoped to ditch the iPad in favor of a more compact way of using this app. Alas, no. The App also shuts down sometimes and fails to open properly, omitting the wind overlay. Why not 1 star? Despite the above faults its still useful.

Ads cover the buttons for animations. Poor usability

Sail Flow has not worked correctly on my iPad in a week or so. Even the latest update does nothing.
